Walk-a-thon

2nd Annual Awareness for Preparedness Walk

On May 20-22, 2011, Department of Inner-City Emergency Response (DICER), hosted its 2nd Annual, Awareness for Preparedness Walk. Captain Khallid Greene (Asiel), members of DICER and proud supports, took the 60.5 mile walk from the Seawall in Galveston, Texas to Houston TX, along the Gulf Coast corridor.

Our goal was to help increase public Awareness of the effects hurricanes can have and the Preparedness steps we all must take.  We encouraged individuals and communities to take care of many important preparations, before the rush that accompanies a storm’s arrival.  This was an Awesome and Rewarding event.

WE WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
