Emergency Response Officers (EROs) are individuals trained to be the first line of response in any emergency situation.
The primary role played by EROs is to check out any locally reported incident or emergency and assess the situation. If deemed appropriate additional emergency services like the police, ambulance and/or fire department are called. The EROs will then facilitate the access of the additional services to the appropriate location and provide the initial briefing to all service providers. This is very important as EROs are neighborhood and community based. They normally reach the location of a reported incident before contemporary services can get there.
